Vedior selects Interxion to reduce telecom costs and increase security
Brussels, 26 April 2005 - Interxion, the leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre and managed services in Europe, today announced that Vedior, one of the world's leading staffing services companies, and ranked n°3 in Belgium has chosen Interxion to supply collocation data centre services with the aim of reducing telecommunications costs without compromising on the quality of services.
Vedior Belgium, a part of Vedior Holding headquartered in Holland, has approximately 86 locations in Belgium. As part of their consolidation and cost reduction strategy Vedior Belgium has relocated its equipment, which was previously housed in a number of data centres throughout Belgium, into Interxion data centre in Brussels.
Francis de Schutter, Director ICT & Quality of Vedior, explains his choice: “We wanted a housing location with lower telecommunications costs and access to value-added services such as IP Multihoming. Since moving into Interxion data centre, we have reduced our telecom costs considerably. Interxion offers an unparalleled choice of main telecom suppliers and direct access to their backbones in the data centre. This allows us to actively negotiate with carriers and reduce the cost of bandwidth and interconnects.”
Vedior initially began its collaboration with Interxion when they relocated some of their IT infrastructure from its previous supplier. Vedior has since decided to consolidate all of its collocated equipment into Interxion’s data centre. This has allowed Vedior to benefit from the quality of the collocation services and excellent level of security offered.
“We needed to ensure that our front-end application Eurofocus was highly secure and available at all times, and decided to install our newly built extranet in the same location and to move our website there as well. The extranet allows our customers to directly interact with our consultants whilst allowing temporary workers to access and search our company database. This ensures that they can establish contact with our organisation rapidly and efficiently,” continued Francis de Schutter, Vedior.
Anthony Foy, Group Managing Director, Interxion, commented: “Interxion Belgium successfully launched the IP Multihoming service in September 2004 to meet the needs of the customers that experienced an increasingly frequent overload of their existing bandwidth, the result of the exponential growth in Internet use.
