Music Sales chooses Interxion to host mission critical infrastructure
London, 22 March 2005 - Interxion, the leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre and managed services in Europe, today announced that it has been selected to supply colocation and connectivity services to Music Sales Limited for all its mission critical communication and operational needs.
Music Sales has a worldwide footprint with representation in London, New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Paris, Madrid, Copenhagen, Berlin, Tokyo and a substantial retail outlet presence in Europe.
Interxion’s highly resilient high bandwidth connectivity services now keep the Music Sales’ Internet site www.musicroom.com - which is receiving 2 million hits a day – up and running. Interxion will also host communications infrastructure to transfer sales data in real-time from it’s UK retail arm to its main distribution centre in Europe in order to proactively manage it’s stock systems. Interxion will also enable Music Sales’ Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connections across the company’s European Virtual Private Network (VPN) to share data between the EU, US offices and third party suppliers and partners.
Commenting on the new relationship with Interxion, John Herd, Network Manager, Music Sales said: “Interxion’s position as Europe’s largest carrier neutral provider of data centre services means they are able to effect introductions with all carriers. Their sales team was very proactive in helping us obtain competitive quotes from them. As a result, we have the best connectivity solutions and value.”
“Continuity of service is of vital importance to any business operating globally and with extensive online operations,” said Anthony Foy, Group Managing Director, Interxion. “We are very proud of the fact that Music Sales feels we offer a better choice and a higher level of service than any other provider.”
Music Sales is now considering expanding its business communications by offering video conferencing and voice and video on demand connections between its UK and US offices.
