Interxion to host the core of MCCN nation-wide Tetra network in its Amsterdam data centre
Amsterdam, December 19, 2005 … Interxion, the leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre and managed services in Europe, today announced that MCCN, a nation-wide provider of mobile radio communication services in the Netherlands, has chosen Interxion data centre in Amsterdam to host the switching and management hub of its Tetra network.
MCCN (Mission Critical Communications Networks B.V.) is building its nation-wide digital network to address growing demand for reliable, scaleable mobile radio services in the Netherlands. Until recently, there was only one technically comparable alternative network – C2000 - that is exclusively used by emergency organisations like police, fire fighters and ambulances. “Our network gives other civil and private organisations like Ministry of Transport, public transportation companies, municipal and parking authorities access to professional mobile radio communication services”, said Eric Geelhuysen, General Director of MCCN.
MCCN has installed the core components of their network, which performs all traffic switching and management functions, in Interxion data centre in Amsterdam. The data centre offers highest level of security, uninterruptible power supply and cooling, fire detection and prevention, and operational support to guarantee 24/7 availability of MCCN services. “We were able to select Interxion very quickly because they demonstrated the highest level of expertise and flexibility amongst all the carrier independent data centre providers in the European market,” said Eric Geelhuysen.
