T101 beefs up operational resilience with managed services from Interxion

Interxion, Europe’s largest provider of carrier-neutral data centers and managed services, has announced that London-based T101, the specialist in developing web-based dating, chat and shopping applications, has chosen to house its IT infrastructure and network equipment at Interxion’s data center in London. Interxion’s team of experts will be supporting this equipment on a 24/7 basis to ensure it is always performing optimally. To further boost T101’s operational resilience, Interxion is also providing robust storage services. Previously, T101’s equipment was located at Redbus’s premises.

T101 chose Interxion for the central London location of its data center and because it is able to offer fully managed services. It is crucial to T101 that its IT infrastructure is housed in a supported and redundant environment, as any downtime greatly impacts on the company’s core services, resulting in lost revenues. To ensure this level of business continuity, Interxion’s services are bound by industry leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs), which include guarantees on power and cooling and also ensure rapid response to any issues affecting T101’s equipment.

“The migration process to Interxion’s data center took place over just one weekend and was completely painless. Interxion ensured that all basic networking issues were resolved before the transportation of hardware; this minimised downtime for both us and our customers,” said Jason Anderson, chief technology officer, T101. “Another key requirement was that our colocation partner could guarantee rapid response to any equipment or networking issues. Interxion’s focus on customer service and business continuity means we have total peace of mind.

T101 is also taking advantage of Interxion’s Secure Data Service (SDS), a fully managed remote storage solution provided over the Internet. As well as providing resilient storage – a critical part of any company’s disaster recovery strategy – SDS allows businesses to only pay for the amount of storage space they actually need on a month-by-month basis.

“With no extra charges incurred for unscheduled backup and restore, installation or reinstallation or even on-call support, SDS is a viable and cost effective option for our business and provides the solid disaster recovery solution we require,” added Anderson. “

Interxion offers stringent operational resilience and immediate response to all equipment glitches, ensuring T101’s online services are always available and providing true business continuity. With data centers located all across Europe, we can also offer T101 the chance to easily expand operations, if and when required,“ said Anthony Foy, Group MD of Interxion. “Businesses like T101 are becoming more and more reliant on online data, so it’s vital that data is reliably stored and can be easily accessed in case of equipment failure. SDS is designed to offer robust storage solutions which are also flexible and cost-effective.”
