Adstream boosts business continuity plans with fully managed service from Interxion
Interxion has announced that Adstream, specialist provider of online tools for the advertising community, has boosted its disaster recovery and business continuity plans by outsourcing the management of its information hub to Interxion’s London data centre. As part of its Cabinet Plus service Interxion will be monitoring performance of Adbank – Adstream’s dedicated hard drive and central hub containing advertising collateral – to ensure it is working optimally 24x7. Interxion will improve Adstream’s operational resilience by providing rapid response to any fluctuation in equipment performance and is also providing Internet connectivity to Adstream. As its data centres offer access to multiple carrier networks, Interxion is able to ensure that the Adbank can always be accessed by Adstream’s customers even if there is a disruption to Adstream’s primary Internet connection.
“We decided to host our online advertisement hub with Interxion because we needed flexible bandwidth, network resilience and security,” said Gerard Barron, CEO, Adstream. “Through offering rapid response to equipment glitches or network outage, Interxion guarantees the Adbank’s availability, which in turn underpins our business.”
Adbank usage is high with Adstream’s customers constantly needing to access information and high resolution images. As material is placed in the Adbank, pre-and post-production companies are able to access and manipulate it as required, before dropping it back into the hub for the next stage in the production process.
Material must also be checked in line with censorship and classification regulations before it is finally pushed out to broadcasters. This frenetic, deadline-driven process relies heavily on the network and IT equipment running optimally - downtime is not an option and could potentially affect several businesses in the production chain.
“The service provided by Interxion was much too complex to produce and manage in-house and the advantage of working with such a supportive team made Interxion stand out from the crowd - the installation was very smooth and took only four days in total. Of the solutions we considered, Interxion provides the best fit, both economically and strategically, with the added bonus of being capable of easily facilitating future growth,” added Baron.
“As Interxion peers with all of Europe’s major carriers, this not only gives Adstream access to the widest possible choice of connectivity providers, it also means the company has flexibility to switch between providers without interrupting its everyday business operations,” said Anthony Foy, group MD, Interxion. “Over the last year Interxion has increased its focus on developing and expanding its managed service offerings. We’ve noted that more progressive online businesses, such as Adstream, are coming to Interxion because of our reputation for providing rock solid business continuity services.”
Interxion’s strategic partner, Equinix, is also providing Adstream with hosting services to support its North American and Asia Pacific operations.
