Interxion shines again with a second SunTone award
Interxion, Europe’s largest and leading provider of carrier-neutral data centers and managed services, has been audited as part of the industry-wide initiative from Sun Microsystems and received its SunTone certification for a further 12 months across its European footprint. With a second successful audit to add to its quality of service portfolio, Interxion is the first pan-European colocation company to have received this award, which further endorses the company’s commitment to high-quality standards, giving customers peace of mind that Interxion is fully compliant with the latest legislation.
Certification under the SunTone Program is granted to companies whose solutions have demonstrated best practices in the areas of infrastructure, operations, hardware, software, storage, security and overall service delivery. As the colocation market becomes more and more service orientated, Interxion is leading the industry in a move away from the ‘no frills’ - cheap and basic off-site cabinet space - image that has dogged the industry in the past.
"SunTone re-certification allows Interxion to continue to be part of a prestigious group of global service providers and data center operators, who meet world class technological standards,” said Phil Collerton, EVP operations, at Interxion. “The rigorous SunTone Program evaluation has demonstrated that Interxion sets the standards in quality and availability, and remains at the forefront of high level, service provider companies"
“A recognised seal of quality for the web and network-based solutions, the SunTone certification allows customers to quickly and confidently identify high-quality solutions that meet a strict benchmark,” says Chris Nottingham, SunTone manager, Europe. “To date more than 880 service providers from around the world have applied for the certification and been audited, of which 170 have been given the award. Interxion is the only pan-European company to have received this for all European locations simultaneously, and now for the second time for its laudably high standards,” continued Nottingham.
