Euronext.liffe chooses Interxion for European colocation services
Interxion, Europe’s largest provider of carrier-neutral datacenters and managed services, has been selected by Euronext.liffe to host the company’s mission critical network infrastructure. Euronext.liffe has established operations with Interxion datacenters in Europe as these sites offer optimal operational resilience through the provision of access to multiple carrier networks and robust hosting and managed services.
Euronext.liffe chose to colocate its network infrastructure at Interxion’s carrier-neutral sites because, in the event of a network connection failing, the alternative carrier network will seamlessly continue the connectivity. This ensures that the Euronext.liffe network is always up and running. To further ensure business continuity, Interxion monitors and manages the environment and infrastructure for Euronext.liffe’s installed network equipment on a 24/7 basis.
“Our business is based on providing real-time financial information across 26 countries, so it’s absolutely vital that our network infrastructure is up and running all of the time. This means we must have instant access to a backup network in the event of failure in our primary carrier’s network,” said Alan Mycroft, director, Euronext.liffe Integration. “We opted for Interxion because it offers us multiple-carrier access alongside secure and robust equipment housing and managed services.”
Euronext.liffe chose Interxion after a rigorous analysis of the market. Interxion’s extensive European presence – 20 data centers in eleven countries – means that Euronext.liffe can easily scale its service in the future.
“Access to multiple carriers networks is becoming more and more of an issue for our colocation customers – especially those in the financial sector where operational resilience requirements are so stringent,” said Anthony Foy, group managing director, Interxion. “It’s totally understandable that carriers would never allow their colocation customers to gain access to a competitor’s networks through their own data centers, but at our independent carrier-neutral locations, this is not a problem.”
Euronext.liffe is the latest in a line of leading financial sector companies choosing to colocate their mission critical networking equipment at Interxion data centers. Other customers include G L Trade.
