Commercial Collocation chooses Interxion as new home for UK colocation services

Interxion, Europe’s largest provider of carrier-neutral data centers and managed services, has announced that Commercial Collocation, a secure colocation provider for SMEs, chose to migrate its IT infrastructure and network equipment from Redbus’ data center to Interxion’s data center in London, where it is being housed, monitored and managed.

As a secure colocation provider, Commercial Collocation supports the IT and networking infrastructure for SMEs, so it is crucial that it houses its IT infrastructure in a fully supported and redundant environment. Interxion is supporting Commercial Collocation’s networking equipment 24 hours a day through its ‘Hands & Eyes’ service, ensuring rapid response to equipment issues. Interxion is also providing Industry leading SLA agreements, including guarantees on power and cooling.

Resilience and customer service were key considerations for Commercial Collocation, in order to maintain the high standards of customer support it delivers to its customers. Commercial Collocation selected Interxion for its 24x7 provision of power. Another requirement which Interxion met was guaranteeing an ambient room temperature of less than 22 °C, to ensure equipment would not be adversely affected by heat – this was particularly pertinent during this summer’s heat wave. Providing quick response to any equipment or network issues to ensure minimal downtime was also key to this contact.

“Interxion’s knowledgeable team ensured the migration process to its data center was painless and efficient,” said Karl Austin, technical director of Commercial Collocation. “The two-step process guaranteed that all the basic networking and software issues were resolved before the transportation of hardware, minimising downtime for our customers. Interxion’s friendly, and helpful attitude to our specific requirements was refreshing and reassuring.”

“Housing Commercial Collocation in our London data center is a strategically sound decision for a company with imminent expansion plans across Europe. Our 20 data centers across Europe will support the company’s growth and ensure consistency in quality of service and rigorous standards”, said Anthony Foy, Group MD of Interxion.

As Interxion peers with all major network operators within its data center, Interxion was able to facilitate the provisioning, negotiation and signing of the carrier that best suited the needs of Commercial Collocation.
