Interxion Digs its footprint into Ireland

Dublin, Ireland, May 17, 2001 - Interxion, Europe's leading provider of carrier-neutral Internet Exchange Centers™ (IECs), today announced its official launch into Dublin. Interxion´s new 14,000 square ft IEC in Park West Business Park was officially launched today by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O´ Rourke, as part of a long term commitment into Ireland by Interxion Holding NV.

Interxion, with headquarters in Amsterdam, provides its customers with complete Internet infrastructure support and has a true European footprint - with fully operational IECs in 15 major European cities. The launch of Interxion Ireland will aid in the attraction of foreign investment from overseas customers - over 170 of which are already Interxion customers - and in return will result in substantial additional contract values for telecoms and Internet companies operating in Ireland.

Interxion´s build out in the Park West Business Park, Dublin 12, is being constructed in a phased approach, with an estimated investment of € 50 million. Currently, Interxion Ireland is operational with 14,000 square feet. The IEC provides a place where companies can exchange resources and services, thus creating an Internet community under one roof. The highly advanced services provided at the IEC in Park West, Dublin are built around the following core areas:

Interxion Equipment Housing - fully managed and fitted with fire protection walls, fire suppression systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), back-up generators

Interxion Hosting and Storage - offering a complete range of pay-as-you-go Managed Storage Service solutions, which are built upon state-of-the-art technology

Interxion Connectivity - an expanded suite of managed connectivity services from one, simple, physical connection to an Ethernet based "Virtual Local Area Network" (VLAN)

Solutions are developed to suit customers´ needs, leading to a growing number of value added services. Interxion offers high level technical support and system back up and also provides facilitated office space within the security of its IEC for customers to roll out their communication activities in Ireland, a very important telecommunications gateway between Europe and the US.

"We provide the infrastructure to ensure our customers are on the backbone of the Internet, " said Tom Cahill, Managing Director of Interxion Ireland. "An immediate goal of ours is to offer a scalable solution for improvement of the existing Internet peering arrangement (INEX) in Dublin."

Michel Boussard, Interxion CEO stated that, "Interxion Ireland should not be viewed as an addition to the data center sector in Ireland. The Internet Exchange Center™ is designed to meet the market´s growing need for managed connectivity and mission critical services in the Internet industry. The current globalisation of the Internet economy requires local presence close to our customers. Our Park West IEC further functions as a gateway to mainland Europe, which is attractive to growing global companies."
