Interxion expands first pan-european managed gigabit connectivity services with Extreme partnership

AMSTERDAM, 03 April 2000 - Interxion, a leading European neutral Internet Exchange Center™ company, today announced the further development of its value-added service portfolio with the immediate availability of first pan-European Gigabit managed connectivity service based on Extreme Networks Gigabit Ethernet LAN technology.

Following a successful pilot Interxion is immediately rolling out its managed Gigabit Ethernet connectivity services to its existing Internet Exchange Centers™ in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Paris. Each Internet Exchange Center™ will receive an Extreme Networks BlackDiamond™ Gigabit Ethernet LAN switch that allows organisations with equipment located in Interxion Internet Exchange Centers™ to set-up and manage virtual local area networks (VLANs) for groups of customers as well as inter-customer peering connections.

Extreme Networks switches combine Gigabit Ethernet and IP with non-blocking wire-speed switching and quality of service to deliver more information faster enabling service provider to accommodate future network and traffic growth.
